It is remarkably similar to particle board and medium density fibreboard but is considerably denser.

This is due to the way it is manufactured from wood fibres that have actually been exploded under extremely high pressure then recompressed to make it very strong and durable. Click for more about Standard Grade Hardboards

This is a board that is manufactured taking a standard hardboard and impregnating it with a special oil which is then polymerized during the heat treatment process, giving it increased moisture resistance as well as increased flexibility allowing the timber to be bent more than standard hardboard would allow.

This flexibility has resulted in it being used a lot in the construction of skateboard ramps and tunnels. It was also used extensively in the manufacture of clipboards although now replaced with plastic. Click here for more about Oil Tempered Hardboard.

Our range of perforated hardboards are always in big demand. We have them in plain and white, standard size – 2440mm x 1220mm 3mm thickness.

They are perforated with 4mm holes drilled at 19mm intervals, made from standard hardboard one side being smooth sanded the other being a softer pressed mesh pattern, unsanded and plain. Click here for more about our Perforated Hardboards.
